What Is It?

Loose in London began as an audience development program for Third Rail Repertory Theatre in 2012. The week-long program has proven so popular that it immediately became an annual event. Demand often allows multiple tours some years and many travelers return regularly year after year. The program is now available for other organizations as well as individual travelers looking to join a London theatre tour.

First Things First

London is without doubt the capital of the English-speaking theatre world. From the National Theatre to the West End, the Royal Court to The Bridge, the Bush to the Kiln, London is filled with exciting new plays from acclaimed authors, vibrant revivals of modern classics, and cutting-edge works from the next generation of exciting new playwrites. Each tour is curated to showcase a variety of stories staged from the largest subsidized venues to the smaller Fringe theatres. No matter the story, each play will give the group plenty of topics to discuss at nightly post-show gatherings.

Location. Location. Location.

Much of the success of Loose In London belongs to our lodgings which are right in the heart of the city. Located on Seven Dials, the 4-star Radisson Blu Edwardian Mercer Street is our hotel of choice. The management and staff know our groups well and are extremely attentive to any and all needs. The hotel is just a few minutes walk from Covent Garden, the West End, and the British Museum, and a short walk to any of three different London Underground Stations will take you anywhere you want to go in the capitol city.

Size Is Everything

Another key to the success of Loose In London is the small group size. We like to keep tours to approximately 20 participants. Daily discussions of the plays attended and sights seen benefit greatly from such an intimate group. The small size also allows greater chances for friendships to form. We do most of our traveling by foot or tube and the smaller group makes moving through the city fairly effortless.

Time Is On Your Side

While attending the newest plays in London is the anchor of the tour, it won’t take up every waking moment of your day. That’s why we’ve built in plenty of time for you to explore your own interests in and around the capitol city. You will have your mornings free most days, afternoons free on non-matinee days, and usually a full day off towards the end of the tour in case you want to leave the city to sightsee. Whatever it is you want to see in your off-tour time, we are happy to help you make arrangements.
